The race was open to everybody from 16 years. 28 men and only six women registred for the qualifier. The best four women and men qualified for the final on 18/19 of Oktober.
From noon there was plenty of action at the new asphalted Pumptrack. The participants gave full speed to reach the Knock-out Heat finals. Who will be sitting in the popular Hot Seat, being a real hot seat at temperatures about 25 degree?
International women quartet
Only in his last ride Hannes Slavik showed his best time and overtook Tobias Franek for four tenths of a second. Together with Patrick Kager (3.) and Eric Holzer (4.) they presented an Austrian quartet on the podium. All four made it to the final in Switzerland.
The group of the best women was much more international: Kristina Madarasova from Slowenia (1.), Linn Olstam from Sweden (2.), Helene Fruhwirtl from Austria (3.) and Steffi Marth from Germany (4.) are going to Bern.
After the race was finished the arena was again in the hands of all Pumptrack fans. Even with little walking bikes childreen dashed over the asphalted waves, dispersing all the concerns if the Pumptrack might be too difficult for the Scott Junior Trophy on Sunday. This race is open to all kids from 5 years to 17. The race will start at 11 a.m.
