Riders had traveled to the Salzburg countryside to battle for the day win at the Pump the Festival event as well as for precious points for the overall ranking of the national Cup.
Two rounds had to be pumped on the circular course right next to the lower terminus of the Asitz gondola lift with women's Cup leader Elke Rabeder clocking in the best time with 13,360 seconds edging off Vanessa Kager (14,087) and Anna Pichler (14,181) to the respective second and third rank.
The rider from Bad Goisern therefore successfully kept hold to her 2017 title with 168 points with Kager finishing also second in the overall ranking.
On the men's side of things, everything came down to the expected showdown between Cup leader Siegi Zellner and defending champion Manuel Widmann although the latter didn't have a chance to bump off Zellner from the top spot of the overall ranking.
However, Widmann stormed through the course bringing home a blistering time of 12,043 seconds while Zellner took second in 12,090 ahead of Thomas Stadler (12,402) therefore crowning himself the 2018 Austrian Pumptrack Series champion in dominant fashion.
